Cory Batz Foundation Scholarship Goes to…

Cory Batz was a Christian Life School student whose life affected his teachers and peers. He was heavily involved in the drama department and displayed his love for the Lord through how he lived his life and treated others around him.
Inspired by their son’s courage and growth during his fight with blood cancer, they honored his memory by awarding a CLS high school student a scholarship for tuition.

Our son, Cory Batz, lost his battle with T-cell lymphoma at the tender young age of 16, on July 31, 2012. Throughout his seven-month fight, Cory never lost his faith in God, his strength, or his courage. He never said, “why me?”. If not for his faith in God and his knowledge of where he was going if he didn’t make it, his battle would have been far more difficult. We are so proud of Cory and look forward to seeing him again in Heaven.” – Michele Batz, Cory’s mother

This year’s recipient is junior, Alex St. John, who not only displays a love for Jesus Christ but also is involved with drama, fine arts, and athletics here at CLS!
