Upper School Science Teacher
Get to know Lisa Dryer, High School Science Teacher! Miss Dryer uses her faith as a foundation for everything she teaches in her classes.
What classes and grade level(s) do you teach?
I teach High School Science.
What do you love most about CLS?
I love that I work with a group of like-minded individuals who are excited to come to work each day so that we can collaboratively prepare our students socially, academically, and spiritually to impact their world for Christ.
Why do you like teaching at CLS?
Our students are pretty awesome! Being able to impart knowledge, wisdom, and humor to them on a daily basis is a pretty amazing and an extremely entertaining way to spend my day!
How are faith and learning integrated at CLS?
Faith is the backbone of everything I do as a teacher. Without it, the classes that I teach cannot stand on their own.
How do you make a spiritual impact on your students?
By striving daily to live out the following verses both in and out of the classroom…Philippians 3:12-14 “Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own because Christ Jesus has made me his own. Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”
What sets CLS students apart from other students?
I love that there are so many different churches and backgrounds represented at CLS. When those different CLS students get together for a chapel or worship service, they all have a common goal of praise and worship to our Lord. Those experiences can carry into classrooms, lunch hours, and before/after school discussions. You won’t find that at many other schools.
