What classes and grade level(s) do you teach?

I teach High School Business, Technology, Honors Speech, Honors Yearbook/Journalism, and Presentation Applications.

What do you love most about CLS?

The close family feel that teachers, students, and parents have while at CLS. Both students and parents know that teachers really do care not just about their education, but about their spiritual lives as well.

Why do you like teaching at CLS?

The administration listens to our needs and tries to help us as best as they can. Students realize they’re in a college prep school and want to learn at a higher level. Peer collaboration with other teachers is crucial to growing as a teacher and CLS allows for this. Students know that they can come to teachers with questions and concerns, and they know that their teachers truly care about them.

How are faith and learning integrated at CLS?

The integration is through weekly chapels, prayer, and devotions in Advisories. Many times, the integration is also with assignments given in class.

How do you make a spiritual impact on your students?

By example. I am also the Varsity Volleyball Coach so I get to shape and mold girls every day into Godly young women who are in love and on fire for Him, whether on or off the court.

What is a unique experience, talent or interest that you bring to your classroom to help shape the learning experience of your students?

Over the past 22 years as an educator, one thing I have learned is that teaching is never boring, especially with technology – which is what I teach. It is constantly changing and evolving to fit the needs of students. Each day brings exciting opportunities and challenges. Each class brings new students with different educational backgrounds, language, and home experiences. Each year allows for a chance to try something new and grow as well. I love learning just as much as my students do.

What sets CLS students apart from other students?

Their character and love for others.
