5th Grade Teacher
Get to know 5th-grade teacher Jennifer Andersen. Mrs. Andersen appreciates that biblical truths are a part of every subject area and every activity In which students participate!
What classes and grade level(s) do you teach?
I teach 5th grade.
What do you love most about CLS?
I love that we have a strong faculty who teach biblical truth to our students.
Why do you like teaching at CLS?
I love to serve our families and our children by teaching them while we are able to infuse Bible knowledge and truth that is interwoven throughout our curriculum.
How are faith and learning integrated at CLS?
It is evident in all of our subject areas. You see a biblical worldview perspective from science to history to math. I love the way our students understand and recognize God’s design throughout all that they learn during our day.
How do you make a spiritual impact on your students?
I pray that God shines through all that I do. I provide grace and remind them, as I remind myself, that I give grace because God gave me grace. I pray that Jesus’ love shines through as I teach them how to love one another and to serve each other. I pray that His love is evident in me.
What is a unique experience, talent or interest that you bring to your classroom to help shape the learning experience of your students?
My unique interest is that I have a deep love for these students. I want them to feel loved, accepted and appreciated. I want them to know that their relationship with Christ is what will drive their loving actions toward others. We all fall short, but that is when we need to love each other the most. Being patient, caring and focused on our goal, to love others as Christ loves us.
What sets CLS students apart from other students?
It was clear the first day I walked into our school that our students are different. They are kind as they hold the door for younger students and parents. They show love as they invest in our younger students lives with the buddy program. When we attend sporting events, our students stand above the rest in our sportsman-like conduct. Our Athletic Department exemplifies how we can be competitive without sacrificing our integrity. These students are not perfect but are in a learning process on how to show Christ’s love to others as they grow to be more like Him.
