4th Grade Teacher
Get to know 4th-Grade Teacher, Blackburn Huff. Mr. Huff uses his dry sense of humor and love of Scripture to make an impact on his students.
What classes and grade level(s) do you teach?
I teach Fourth Grade.
What do you love most about CLS?
I love the Christian atmosphere, the friendly people, and the students.
Why do you like teaching at CLS?
I am able to teach my students about Christ and use the Bible on a daily basis.
How are faith and learning integrated at CLS?
They are integrated by using everyday situations to illustrate that God’s hand is in everything. I enjoy using Christian curriculum to see that there are order and logic in the universe. Also, we trust God to answer prayers and teach that everything we do reflects God’s love and power.
How do you make a spiritual impact on your students?
First, by praying for them, and showing, guiding, and teaching them about God and His worldview. I try to be an example for them. I hope they see a person who is humble before the Lord and wants to live his life according to the Bible. I give my students opportunities to experience God in the classroom.
What is a unique experience, talent, or interest that you bring to your classroom to help shape the learning experience of your students?
Since I taught in another country, I can use those comparisons in my teaching. I love sharing the experiences that I had living in another country. Also, my dry sense of humor.
What sets CLS students apart from other students?
Many of them have a Christian foundation. That is one thing I have in common with my students. They love to pray and talk about God. Being in a small school, students feel like part of a family at CLS.
