Christian Life School Varsity Football Update
Christian Life School Athletic Director Troy Tennyson and Head of School Dr. Jeff Bogaczyk, Ph.D., are excited to announce that CLS Varsity Football Defensive Coordinator, Bob Johnson has been named the Head Football Coach. Johnson will assume his new duties at the start of the 2023 season, taking the reins from Jack Decker who coached from 2018 to 2022.
“We are excited about Bob and the experience he brings to CLS football. From my first-hand experience, I know Bob to be passionate about football and to develop our young men into solid Christian leaders. We look forward to the future of Christian Life football and want to congratulate Bob on this appointment.” Dr. Bogaczyk said.
Johnson graduated from UW-Whitewater where he earned his undergraduate degree in public policy and administration. He is also a graduate of Loyola University where he earned his master’s degree in business administration. Johnson brings over a decade of coaching experience including a record of 51-10 as a head coach over a seven-year span. During his three years with CLS Varsity, Johnson was instrumental in establishing the team’s first special teams unit, installing an exciting and aggressive defensive identity, and introducing many building blocks for the future of CLS football.
“This is incredibly humbling to be chosen for such an important role for Christian Life School. I am a man of unshakable faith and what a dream come true to be able to glorify God through football. I mean does it get any better as a football guy to be doing this same job? To get to play a small role in guiding our players in their spiritual, academic, and social journeys as their head coach is not a role I will take lightly. I want to thank Coach Jack Decker and his family for the endless dedication and hours they committed to the CLS football program to get it this far. I look forward to introducing a fresh and new approach to guiding this program to high levels of success and competitiveness with a laser focus on the player, family, and fan experience. I will strive to prepare our students for the next level, whatever their path. I also want to thank the many coaches I’ve shared the sidelines with over the last decade, I’ve learned a great deal from each one of them and am excited about building another strong staff similar to those that contributed to my prior success as a head coach, Go Eagles!” Johnson said.
