Beau Ricker Recognized as National Merit Commended Student with Bright Future Ahead!

Principal Carrie Wright from our Middle/High School is thrilled to announce that senior Beau Ricker has been recognized as a Commended Student in the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program. This honor comes with a Letter of Commendation awarded to Beau by both the school and the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) for his exceptional academic promise.

Each year, about 34,000 students nationwide receive this recognition, placing them among the top 50,000 students in the country who entered the 2025 competition through their performance on the 2023 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. Although Commended Students do not continue in the competition for National Merit Scholarships, their achievement speaks to their outstanding potential and academic excellence.

“Those being named Commended Students have demonstrated outstanding potential for academic success,” a spokesperson for the NMSC shared. “These students represent a valuable resource for our nation’s future, and we recognize the importance of their schools in providing opportunities for their growth.”

Beau’s impressive academic achievements continue to open doors for him. Recently, he was awarded an academic scholarship from Drury University in Springfield, Missouri, where he has been accepted into the Architecture program. With a bright future ahead, Beau’s accomplishments exemplify the dedication and hard work of our students and the support of our school community.

Congratulations to Beau on this remarkable achievement, and we look forward to seeing all he will accomplish at Drury University and beyond!
