What classes and grade level(s) do you teach?
I teach kindergarten.
What do you love most about CLS?
The family-like atmosphere.
Why do you like teaching at CLS?
The freedom to teach the curriculum without having to try to match the ever-changing standards that the government or districts are coming up with.
I love working with people who have the same philosophy of education that I have. Also, I love how we are team players helping each other out.
How are faith and learning integrated at CLS?
After teaching here for 22 years, I cannot imagine not being able to incorporate God into every aspect of teaching. Many life lessons learned in Kindergarten are much richer because of being able to use God’s word in the instruction. I also love starting each day out with Bible!
How do you make a spiritual impact on your students?
By praying with them and for them. During Bible memory time I explain the verses in words they can understand so that they are understanding what the verse means.
What is a unique experience, talent, or interest that you bring to your classroom to help shape the learning experience of your students?
In early elementary, I was a struggling reader. I think this makes me empathetic towards the child who reading does not come easily.
What sets CLS students apart from other students?
Work ethics and the fact that these students are encouraged and challenged to learn to the best of their ability without getting an easy way out.
