What classes and grade level(s) do you teach?

I teach Third Grade.

What do you love most about CLS?

I love the atmosphere of CLS… You can see evidence of God at work everywhere you look!

Why do you like teaching at CLS?

I enjoy being able to teach beyond the textbook… not only teaching my students about academics but taking it a step further to teach them about life and faith. I love being able to combine my passion for teaching with my love for the Lord!

I also love being able to share my experience here with my own children and seeing their faith grow and develop as a result of being in this Christ-centered environment.

How are faith and learning integrated at CLS?

I believe faith is integrated into everything we do here! It is incredible to have the freedom to teach our students about God, not just in one subject area, but in all that we do. Here we can encourage our students to do more than just work hard for their grades, but to truly glorify God with all of their talents.

How do you make a spiritual impact on your students?

I strive to guide my students to take the lessons that they are learning in the Bible and apply them to real-life situations that they may be facing. One of the biggest things that I want my students to remember is that no matter what we may face in our lives, God has a plan for us!

What is a unique experience, talent or interest that you bring to your classroom to help shape the learning experience of your students?

I have always believed that if my students are enjoying what they are learning, then they are going to learn so much more. I think that this desire to make learning as fun as possible, while still maintaining high standards, helps me create a classroom environment that encourages my students to reach their highest potential.

What sets CLS students apart from other students?

From hearing their heartfelt prayers and songs of worship in Chapel to seeing them holding a door or stopping to help someone else, I am continually impressed with the character of our students. Their faith is so evident in their interactions with others!
