CLS Wrestlers Find Success at State Tournament

Over the weekend, three varsity wrestlers earned the opportunity to compete in the 74th Annual State Individual Wrestling Tournament. The three-day tournament, beginning Thursday night, took place at the University of Wisconsin Field House in Madison.

Caden Calabrese, a CLS junior, wrestled at state for the third straight year. After falling to the eventual 120-pound champion in the round of eight on Friday morning, Calabrese battled back, winning 2 out of his next 3 matches to secure a 5th place finish and a spot on the podium.

CLS seniors Hunter Shuler and Stephen Schostok also had successful weekends. Schuler returned to the State Tournament for the third straight year in the 152-pound weight class, while Schostok made his first appearance at the 182-pound weight class. The two wrestled well, and while they fell short of the podium, they both earned top-8 finishes.

CLS is extremely proud of these three wrestlers, as well as the entire Varsity Wrestling Team. Congratulations on a fantastic season capped with a successful weekend at the State Tournament. Way to go boys!
