On Friday, March 17th, the CLS Athletic Department hosted its 8th Annual Pasta Dinner and Auction. The event was a success, raising a little over $11,000. In addition, through a program designed to support community organizations, Modern Woodmen of America matched the first $2,500 that was raised. This brought the total to just under $14,000, which was highly successful for the department.
Toni Schuler, Athletics Office Administrative Assistant, expressed that this year’s donations were likely the best items to have been auctioned. She noted, “The community was more than generous.” Almost every contacted company was willing to donate, as well as multiple colleges in the area. In addition, Olive Garden catered the pasta dinner, which fed almost 350 people. Extravagant desserts were generously provided by Habel family, along with custard supplied by Culvers. CLS students Lucas Hyllberg, Nick Abate, and Michael Wyant entertained the crowds with music throughout dinner.
The CLS Athletic Department would like to thank everyone who helped make the 8th Annual Pasta Dinner and Auction possible, including the athletes, cheerleaders, donors, and families. This event would not have been a success without the incredible group of CLS parents who gave their time to volunteer.
Finally, CLS Athletics would like to extend a special thank-you to Sheila Schostok. For the past three years, she has worked tirelessly to orchestrate parts of the auctions. Sheila’s creative work has not gone unnoticed, and she will be greatly missed in the years to come.
